Last post for September 29 faces 2014

I made it through 29 faces! I have all of the faces I made for this challenge here on this grid collage:

29 faces Collage
faces I forgot to add

If you want to look at each face/post individually you can do that here.

I really enjoyed myself. Ayala always suggests that we do something that challenges us and this year my challenge was to paint each of the 29 faces. I didn’t quite do that in the end but I did get very, very close.:)

I look forward to getting caught up with the artists who took part in this now. I have visited now and then this last month but not as much as I’d like to do. Somehow I find it really hard Β to keep up during challenges like this which is unfortunate but I do hope to get better at that. I think I just need to schedule my time better!

Thank you for coming by!

She’s not quite finished yet,I plan to touch her up a little once she’s dried completely.
And now I find myself in my kitchen remembering that I promised my youngest veggie lasagna tonight and wondering if she’ll remember…

Oh Willy,you’re so fine..17 of #29faces

I do know that the song mentions Mickey and not Willy but I have a thing for Johnny Depp in any role.
Yes,even his mad hatter role.
This is number 17 of 29 faces and 30 paintings. I didn’t paint yesterday as I was in a little but if a funk.
I was in a funk today too but I pushed myself out of it.
As it happens I discovered something.
You know who helps with funks?
Thanks Johnny. πŸ™‚
This was done fairly quickly,I just wanted to get something on the paper. It’s 8 x10 and acrylics on watercolor paper.
We’ll be going to art walk later but hopefully I can work more tonight.

Smile,12 of #29faces ,30paintings

Today I worked in my art journal. It’s an old psychology textbook that I repurposed ages ago. I took out a lot of pages out when I first prepped it but these types of books have a lot of pages in them and so this one is taking me a long time to get through. I don’t always work in my journals but when I do it’s a really fun experience for me. Art journals for me are either there so that you can try something new or there to be used as a diary. Diary type art journals don’t typically get shared online. I’ve joined a group full of people who also like to art journal. The group was put together by Nicci Battilana. You can find her here.
And this page was inspired by her very awesome face image that was offered to be printed or free drawn in our journals. I few drew mine.

I’m using this as face number 12 of my 29 faces and 30 paintings. πŸ™‚

And Ayala Art’s 29 faces challenge. And here’s hoping to get another one done today as I’m a teensy bit behind….

This is not a man…

I know. It was supposed to be a man and I started sketching that way but there was paint on the canvas from when I used it as a pallet. The paint that was there wanted this painting to be a women. I don’t argue with paint so here we are.

She’s acrylic on a 9 x 12 canvas. She’s currently untitled but my husband suggested Crow girl. Let’s say she’s Face 11 and leave it at that. πŸ˜‰

A Brave painting,#29faces , 30 paintings,day 6

IMG_6060.JPGI had to pleasure of watching Brave with my girls yesterday(it’s a huge favorite of ours). After we were talking about what I’d paint for today and my youngest decided that I should try to paint Merida. I thought that was a great idea but I wanted to do her painting more in my style. This is what I came up with. It’s a mix of the lady that play Merida in the Disney park and Merida from the movie. This is painted in acrylics and is 6 x 9 on water color paper.

She is #6 for Leslie Saeta’s 30 days 30 paintings and

Ayala Art’s 29 faces. πŸ™‚ Thank you for visiting.:)

My Fairy girl,#1 of #30paintings and #29faces

Happy first of September! This month I am challenging myself to paint more by joining the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge* and the #29 faces* challenge.

I do not have a theme, I plan to paint ACEOS, canvases and on watercolor paper. I’m hoping to launch an etsy shop this month so this challenge should help me have lots of stuff to put into it.:)
