Getting ready for Halloween

Yesterday i did a good amount of drawing and some painting. I just never updated about that painting or the drawing that I did. Technically I’m done with 29 faces with these-I will continue to make art for the rest of the month though. I want to make a bigger version of the witch for sure.

And I really want to use that pen drawing and turn it into a canvas painting. I just need to fit it all in.

My mom is coming into town today so the past 48 hours have been busy cleaning and looking for Halloween decorations.
Because my mother Loves Halloween.
I’m joking,she actually hates Halloween as much as I love it. It’s our thing. I go all out with decorating for All Hallow’s Eve and she grinds her teeth until November comes.
It’s cute.

I hope to finish these ACEO cards and my watercolor today.

Caterina,woman,cat morphed painting

I’ve been enjoying everyone’s work immensely as I go along. And getting inspired too! If you noticed my clown lady from an earlier post then you might have remembered the Smile art journal page that I made for day 12. That is because when I made that cartoon character based Nicci’s design I really wanted to play around with making a more realistic clown right after.

I spotted some fabulous animal morphed humans on Minerva Levinston’s blog and felt inspired to make an animal morphed human face too.

I painted this:

I like her and may do more in the future.This was a really,really fun one to do!
She is on 9 x 12 watercolor paper ,painted with acrylics and water colors.
I’m also thinking on what I’ll be creating for an art show,Women painting Women and for a Facebook art collective auction called Twisted Ruby Red Slippers Artist Collective where myself and loads of fantastic artists will have artwork up for auction towards the end of October. I’m really hoping I can create something good,wish me luck!

Power puff girls and a sick little

My youngest has bronchitis and needs breathing treatments every three to four hours. 😦 it stinks and it was scary at first because this is new to us,but it’s going okay.
We’ve watched a lot if cartoons together and not gotten a lot of sleep. Hopefully she’ll be over this soon though!

I was looking through instgram last night and @creativepush (an artist who likes to share other artist’s artwork) has started doing #themepush. It’s essentially a prompt that you draw and tagged so others can see you easily. The first theme was Nickelodeon. Power puff girls came to mind because I like them and I knew my girl would like watching me draw them. Paint was out of the question because I’m camped out on the couch for the time being. I went with colored pencils and crayon.

In the end I ended up doing three versions of Blossom,Buttercup and Bubbles. I’m only counting the last one towards 29 faces though and this brings me to face # 22, 23 and 24 .

Moon girl painting

This is a very small painting,only 4×4 canvas board. My intention was to stick to the colors that I had left over from yesterday’s painting session. (My first time using Saran-wrap to keep my paints from drying being successful.:)

She is my 22? Painting and my 21st face. I’ll have to double check that but think it’s right! She was painted fairly quickly but I like her.

I started this on Friday but wasn’t able to finish her.
I call her Teary Clown
She’s acrylic on water color paper,about 8 x 10.

Second painting was drawn on Saturday but I had a writing workshop that took precedent so I finished her today also.
I call her Swirling but happy
She is Ali acrylic and on watercolor paper. 8×10

Last painting I had to do because I’m really looking forward to Halloween!

She’s not quite finished yet,I plan to touch her up a little once she’s dried completely.
And now I find myself in my kitchen remembering that I promised my youngest veggie lasagna tonight and wondering if she’ll remember…

Oh Willy,you’re so fine..17 of #29faces

I do know that the song mentions Mickey and not Willy but I have a thing for Johnny Depp in any role.
Yes,even his mad hatter role.
This is number 17 of 29 faces and 30 paintings. I didn’t paint yesterday as I was in a little but if a funk.
I was in a funk today too but I pushed myself out of it.
As it happens I discovered something.
You know who helps with funks?

This was done fairly quickly,I just wanted to get something on the paper. It’s 8 x10 and acrylics on watercolor paper.
We’ll be going to art walk later but hopefully I can work more tonight.
